Tesler+Mendelovitch is based in Tel - Aviv, Israel. He studied at Shenkar College Of Engineering And Design and graduated in 2011. His collections are produced in Israel.
As a Tel -Aviv textile design and development team, Tesler + Mendelovitch create totally original, never-before-seen materials, transforming them into high quality custom-made products for industry, art and fashion.
Creating original materials from “the ground up” demands an intensive incubation period of careful thought, experimentation, research and tremendous effort to convert a vision into a unified aesthetic, technical and functional product.
Their recent work has resulted in the transformation of wood into a new textile.
Inspired by the texture, properties and appearance of wood as a simultaneously delicate, flexible while also strong, durable material, theye researched the potential of integrating these opposing elements to form new product identities.
The team have developed their geometric wood surface material into several products, recently launching "Wearable Wood" - a new series of totally original, limited production, luxurious clutch purses.
These architectural looking, artisanal ”wood skin” purses are constructed from 100% wood. While the geometric surface design provides necessary flexibility, the wood texture is soft to the touch, at once both delicate and wear resilient
Featuring a magnetic clasp and a soft underbelly for a comfortable grip, all wood used in their designs is hand-selected, individually and meticulously crafted to a high quality standard.
